The Artist

Gerry Falk

A lifetime of craft distilled into every joint, curve, and grain.

Gerrasimos Martselos — Gerry — works with wood the way some people work with language: listening first, then shaping something that wasn't there before.

From his workshop in the Okanagan Valley, Gerry transforms raw wood slabs into furniture and sculptural art. He works alone, by choice. Every piece passes through one pair of hands — from selecting the slab to applying the final finish.

Gerry's background is rooted in sustainable living and land stewardship. Before the workshop, there were years spent learning to read landscapes, understanding how things grow, and developing a deep respect for natural materials. That philosophy carries into every piece: nothing is wasted, nothing is forced, and the wood's natural character is always honoured.

This is not a factory. There are no production lines, no templates, no shortcuts. Each piece begins as a conversation between the maker and the material — and the result is furniture that carries the story of both.

The Workshop

The Okanagan Connection

The Okanagan is not just where Gerry lives — it is where his materials come from and where his inspiration begins. Fallen timber, reclaimed logs, and locally sourced slabs provide the starting point for every creation.

The valley's rhythm — long winters for drying and planning, bright summers for finishing — is woven into the pace of the workshop itself.
